English Grammar – Present Simple (Simple Present)
Present Simple (Simple Present) grammar in English is used to talk about routines or habits.
I get up at 7:00 am every morning.
I have lunch at 1:00 o’clock during the week.
It is also used to talk about facts.
The Earth spins around the Sun.
I smoke 10 cigarettes every day.
Water boils at 100° Celsius.

Mistake Of The Day
Get Used To It
To English ears it sounds unusual when foreign learners use the phrase’in former times’. Believe it or not we don’t use it. We tend to use a construction with ‘used to’. For example do NOT say ‘In former times I lived in Vienna’ but say ‘I used to live in Vienna’ instead.
